2018 Imagine

Congratulations to the Gordon Lee Marching Trojan band on their performance at the Armuchee Invitational this past Saturday. The band was rated superior (1) in every category. The Danceline was 1st overall, the Drum Majors and Percussion were 2nd in class, and the colorguard and band were 3rd in class.

Congratulations to the award winning Gordon Lee Marching Trojan Band. At the Golden River Marching Festival the band earned all superior (1) ratings. The drum majors were 1st in class and 1st place silver division champions. The Danceline was 1st in class and silver division champions. The percussion, colorguard, and band were 2nd in class and the band was rated 2nd place band overall in the silver division.

Congratulations to the Gordon Lee Band on a terrific performance at the Peach State Marching Festival. The band earned all superior (1) ratings. The drum line and Danceline were rated first in class and the band was rated 3rd in class.

2017 Chicago-The Musical

Congratulations to the Gordon Lee Marching Trojan Band on a wonderful performance at the Warrior Invitational Marching Festival. The Drum Majors, Danceline, Color Guard, and Percussion all received superior ratings. The percussion and band was rated 3rd in class, the drum majors and colorguard were rated 2nd in class and the danceline was rated 1st in class on overall first for the day.

Hannah Jones was selected to participate in the US Army All American Honor Band, the first in school history.

Molly Ragon was selected to participate in the NAFME National Honors Ensemble, the first in school history.

Molly Ragon, Gracie Ragon, Logan Scott, Samuel McKeehan, Hailey Dalton and Brayden Haynes were selected to the All District Honor Band.

Molly Ragon and Logan Scott were selected to the Georgia All State Band.

The band participated in the 2017 Gatlinburg Fantasy of Lights Parade.

2016 A Time For Joy

Congratulations to the Marching Trojan Band on and excellent start to their competition season. The band attended the Midsouth Marching Festival and received all Superior (1) ratings. The band tied for the highest band score in Class AAA and the 3rd highest overall score of the day. The colorguard had the highest score of class AAA and tied for 1st of the day. Percussion had the highest score in class AAA and the highest score of the day.

Congrats to the GL Band on a terrific performance at the Peach State Marching Festival. The band received all 1 ratings and the danceline and percussion were rated first in class.

Congratulations to Rachel Phillips, Hailey Dalton, and Cassidy Geib on being selected for the all district honor band. Rachel Phillips also passed the first round of the all state audition and will be heading to the second round this January.

The following students were selected to the 2016 All district honor band. Logan Scott, Gracie Ragon, Samuel McKeehan, Molly Ragon, and Logan Scott. They all also qualified to go to the all state audition.

2015 Carnival of the Animals

Congratulations to the Gordon Lee Marching Trojan Band on a terrific performance at the Mid-South Marching Festival on September 26, 2015. The band earned Superior (1) ratings in all categories including Drum Major, Danceline, Color Guard, Percussion, and Band. The band was awarded class champs for having the overall highest band score in class AAA, and received the Bob Rush award for having superior ratings in every category. Out of the 21 bands performing, the drum majors had the top score of the day, Danceline was 5th, Colorguard was 2nd, Percussion was 2nd, and the band was 2nd overall. Mr. Haynes would like to thank the students and staff for all of their hard work.

Congratulations to the Gordon Lee Marching Trojan Band on an excellent performance at the 2015 Blue Ridge Marching Festival. The band received excellent ratings for percussion and superior (1) ratings for Band, Drum Majors, Dance Line, and Color guard. The band, percussion, and Drum Majors were rated 2nd in class AAA and the colorguard and danceline were the class AAA champions. Danceline also had the highest score of the day regardless of class.

The band received all superior ratings in the categories of drum major, danceline, Colorguard, percussion, and band. The drum majors were 2nd in class and the danceline, Colorguard, percussion, and band were named the class AAA champions. Mr. Haynes would like to thank the students and band staff for a tremendous competitive season.

2014 Arabian Nights

Congratulations to the GL Marching Band for an exceptional start to their competitive season at the Blue Ridge Marching Festival. The band was rated 1 (superior) in all categories earning best in class in Drum Major, Colorguard, and Danceline. Special Honors went to the band who had the 4th highest score of all bands competing. The colorguard was 3rd overall and Drum Majors were 2nd overall. The Danceline had the highest score of the day.

Congratulations to the band on a great performance at the Jacksonville State University Contest of Champions. The band received all superior (1) ratings. The Drum Majors were second in class, the danceline were 1st in class and the band finished the day 11th out of 26 bands competing.

The band and drum majors were rated 2nd in class and the Danceline, colorguard and percussion were rated 1st in class. The danceline was rated 1st for the entire day and the colorguard was 2nd.

2013 007-Celebrating 50 years of James Bond

Congratulations to the Gordon Lee Marching Trojan Band on a terrific performance at the JSU contest of champions. The band received all "1" superiors ratings and was ranked 1st in class in all divisions (Drum Major, Danceline, Colorguard, Percussion and Band). The Drum Majors, Danceline, and colorguard had the second highest score of all bands competing.

Congratulations to the band who competed at the Walden's Ridge Marching Festival in Harriman, Tn. The band received all superior (1) ratings and were ranked best in class AAA in all categories, band, drum major, percussion, and colorguard/danceline. This is the second competition this year that the band has earned best in class in all categories. In addition the band earned 3rd overall percussion, 2nd overall Drum Major, 1st overall colorguard/danceline and 1st overall band.

Congratulations to the Gordon Lee marching band for an excellent performance at the 2013 Peach State Marching Competition. The band earned superior (1) ratings in every category(Drum Major, Colorguard, Danceline, Percussion and Band). The danceline and band were rated first in class, and the band had the fourth highest score of the day. This is the 3rd competition this year that the band has been first in class.

2012

Congratulations to Amy Strickland, Brandon Murphy, Mikayla Jones, and Isaac Ott for being selected to the 2012 All District Honor Band. Also congrats to Amy Strickland, Molly Prince, and Brandon Murphy for passing the first round of the All State audition. Way to go Band!!!

2011

Congratulations to the band for receiving superior ratings in the following categories at the Armuchee Invitational on October 1: Drum Major, Danceline, Colorguard, and Band. The colorguard was rated 1st in class and 2nd overall for the day.

Congratulations to the band for a strong showing at ?A Bradley Classic? on October 8th, 2011. The competition was in caption style and no ratings were given, however the band was 2nd in class overall and had a very strong showing.

Congratulations to the Gordon Lee Marching Trojan Band for an excellent performance at the 2011 Peach State Marching Band Competition. The band received superior ratings in Drum Major, Percussion, Danceline, Colorguard, and Band. The Band was in the top 8 of the day out of 25 with special awards going to danceline for 1st in class and highest score of the day. Our Drum Majors were 2nd in class and our Colorguard was 3rd in class. This has been an amazing group of young people to work with and I am extremely proud of all they have accomplished.

2011 All district Honor Band

Congratulations to Molly Prince, Regan Scott, Trevor Veal, and Brandon Murphy for being selected to the all district band Veal and Murphy were also selected to the first round of all state.

Trojan band finishes strong at Armuchee Invitational.

The band competed at the Armuchee Invitational on October 2nd, 2010. The Band received superior ratings in every category. The Drum Majors finished first in class and 4th overall. The Danceline finished 1st in class. The Colorguard tied for 2nd in class and 4th overall. The Drumline and Band both finished third in class. Way to go band!

Human selected to All-State Band

GLHS senior Chris Human has been selected to the 2010 Georgia All-State Band. Human earned the first chair contrabass clarinet seat, the third time he has been first chair All-State. Human is the just the third student in GLHS history to be chosen for the All-State band in three different years, and is the only one to have earned first chair three times.

GLHS Band Winner

The Gordon Lee High School Band’s performance at the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla., showed how talented the school’s band is — it took the honors as winner of the parade. The Gordon Lee band was one of 10 U.S. high school marching bands that performed at the Outback Bowl on New Year’s Day. The GLHS winners were an-nounced that night and the band rang in the New Year with a party in Ybor City, near Tampa. The Outback game featured Auburn vs. North Carolina.

Seven selected to All-District Band

Chris Human, Trevor Moss, Brandon Murphy, Amy Strickland, Trevor Veal, Jessica Wolinsky, and Mikaela Jones have been selected to the 2009-2010 All-District Honor Band. Human and Murphy have also qualified in the first round of All-State tryouts. They will be competing in the second round in the spring.

Marching Trojans first in class at Peach State

The GLHS Marching Trojan Band received all Superior ratings and was first in class in all captions at the Peach State Marching Band Competition, held October 24, 2009 in Rome.

The band posted the third highest score of the day.

Band Competes at Golden River

The Gordon Lee band competed in the 2009 Golden River Marching Festival at Haralson County High School on October 17 and received all Superior ratings.

The GLHS Danceline was the First-Place Sweepstakes winner among the 18 bands competing in classes A, AA, and AAA. The band won the Third-Place Sweepstakes award.

The Marching Trojans competed in Class AAA, where they placed first in dance line, second in percussion, and third in drum majors, color guard, and overall band.

GLHS band best in class at Armuchee

The Gordon Lee Marching Band had a strong showing at the 2009 Armuchee Invitational on October 3. The Drum Majors, Majorette, Danceline, Colorguard, and Band all received Superior ratings. The Colorguard posted the third highest score of the day among the 13 color guards competing. The band was rated best in class and received the second highest score of the day regardless of class or division.
